Why matcha, derived from green tea, is trending right now

Matcha’s rising popularity outside Asia can be attributed to its reputation as a healthier coffee alternative.

Studies indicate that the antioxidants in green tea may help reduce cardiovascular disease risk, enhance gut health, and boost metabolism. It also provides a more stable energy increase compared to coffee’s rapid highs and lows.

While a cup of coffee typically contains 100-200mg of caffeine, matcha has about 70mg along with L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes concentration and alertness.
