Luck, skill, and the stock market
In a Financial Times article, Simon Edelsten suggests that playing bridge enhances his investing skills. Both activities engage similar cognitive processes, as they involve recognizing patterns and making informed responses.
Victor Mollo and Nico Gardener’s guide to bridge play is aptly titled “The Art of Being Lucky.” The title is ironic; what appears to be luck stems from solid technique developed through practice and experience.
